School of the month

Welcome to our brand new School of the Month series, where we give schools across the country the unique opportunity to advertise their school governor vacancies to our prospective volunteers.

Here at SGOSS everything we do is focussed on finding the best school governors to support the schools we work with. We think this video format is a great way for volunteers to gain a real insight into the role and, most importantly, bring schools and the challenges they face to life.

Our first school of the month features Cheshunt Secondary School in Hertfordshire. Hear from Head Teacher Andy Stainton and Chair of Governors Lesley Morton who discuss their vision for the school, what they're looking for in a new governor and what a newly appointed governor can expect at Cheshunt School.

Andy and Lesley are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join their governing body. If you've got financial or property experience that's a bonus, but they're interested in talking to anyone who is eager to help keep pushing the school forward.

If you would like to find out more about school governor opportunities at Cheshunt School contact us directly on 020 7354 9805 or email

    Hi Eric

Focussed can be spelt with either one or two s's, two being the preferred British spelling. ;)
