          This introductory guide to board-level volunteering explains what board-level volunteering is and what it involves.

           

          This guide to volunteering as a charity trustee, school governor or member of the board of a public body such as an NHS trust provides information about board-level volunteering to individuals who wish to volunteer and employers/HR professionals who want to support employees wishing to volunteer for boards. It aims to encourage them to consider board-level volunteering and to take action to become involved.

            Volunteering England Resources

            Umbrella organisation Volunteering England has published several summary reports on the nature and future of volunteering.

             

            Research has shown that a motivating factor for governors is their own development. It has also shown that experience gained in governance impacts positively on career success.

            Value Volunteer Management Campaign

            A different kind of investment – what does your organisation stand to gain? Volunteering England’s Value Volunteer Management Campaign aims to increase awareness of the value and importance of investing in volunteer management.
